Who We Are

Our Mandate

The Institute was created in response to the growing complexity of cancer treatment and the high-risk nature of cytotoxic medicines. Chemotherapy preparation requires advanced technical competence, strict aseptic technique, and a strong quality culture to prevent medication errors, occupational exposure, and patient harm.

Our mandate is to bridge the gap between theory and real-world oncology pharmacy practice by providing structured, practice-oriented training aligned with regulatory and professional expectations.

NHBC Training Institute is a specialized professional CPD provider established to strengthen oncology pharmacy practice and chemotherapy safety through structured, competency-based education.

We focus on building a skilled pool of pharmacists and pharmaceutical technologists capable of delivering safe, accurate, and high-quality chemotherapy services across hospital and clinical settings. Our training programs emphasize chemosafety, quality assurance, and patient protection throughout the chemotherapy lifecycle.

Why Oncology Pharmacy Training Matters

Chemotherapy medicines are among the most hazardous medicines used in clinical practice. Errors in dose calculation, preparation, labelling, or aseptic technique can result in severe patient harm and occupational exposure.

High-quality oncology pharmacy practice ensures:

  • Accurate interpretation of treatment protocols
  • Safe handling of cytotoxic medicines
  • Aseptic preparation in controlled environments
  • Quality checks before patient administration
  • Protection of healthcare workers and patients

Our Training Philosophy

We believe quality must be built into the process, not inspected at the end.

Our programs emphasize:

  • End-to-end chemotherapy workflow understanding
  • Practical application of chemosafety standards
  • Quality assurance embedded in routine practice
  • Continuous professional development
